  • This is mostly a protected blog.  I am usually flexable with adding new people to my protected list, as I like meeting new people.  If you want to be added, just ask.  I may ask you a few questions first, however.

Meanwhile… for those on my protected list, enjoy reading “Random thoughts of a mad woman.  Well, a slightly off woman…”

  • Is it going to snow in San Diego?!?!?!  I know the snow levels have dropped significantly, and it is down right cold outside!  And…. the sky is grey.  Our heater has been turning on every 5 minutes!  For those of you who used to live in San Diego… the lows last night in the east county were in the 20′s!!!!!!

    EDIT!!!!

CONFIRMED REPORTS OF SNOW FALLING!  The news just reported that snow is falling in Imperial Beach, Spring Valley, and Rancho Bernardo.

  • I had to make a public apology… I ran out of stamps… which is why I was only able to mail out about half of the calendars.  I should be able to mail the rest this weekend.  We do have more calendars… so if you want one, just let me know.  And for those that don’t know… Sarah is “Miss September”

  • Wow!  A personal public post!  Well, it is all about organ donation, so I figured it would be a good idea.

Yesterday I got up at 4:30 in the morning, picked up my friend Beth, and her step-son at 5 am, and got to Life Share at about 5:30.  We left Life Share at 6 am, on a Charter bus, heading towards Pasadena.  On the way the bus stopped at Fullerton to pick up the group from One Legacy.  We finally arrived at the Rose Palace around 9 am, where we got our job assignments.  Beth and I decided to work on the vials for the roses that will honor individuals affected by organ donation.  we prepared about 1,000 vials!

It was a long day, and a rather emotional one too!  But what an incredible honor to be a part of the Rose Parade, working on a float that means so much to us.

Oh, by the way.  On December 30th we are going back up to Pasadena, to the Rose Palace.  We will be placing roses with Sarah’s name on the float.  The folks from the Donate Life organization are going to try to get us on the news too.  We will see.

  • I have an actual post that I wrote earlier today.  However, I forgot to mention something VERY important.  Sarah will be in the San Diego Region’s Donate Life 2007 calendar.  If you would like me to send you one, just click on the “Message Me” link on the left side of this web page, and send me your address.  There is no charge for this, so you don’t have to send any money.  However, if you do feel the need to do so, just send it to Life Share in San Diego.

Can You Be A Mommy If Your Baby’s Not With You?

I thought of you and closed my eyes
    And prayed to God today.
I asked what makes a Mother
And I know I heard him say:

    A mother has a baby
    This we know is true.
But, God, can you be a mother
When your baby’s not with you?

    Yes, you can He replied
    With confidence in His voice.
    I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.

Some I send for a lifetime,
    And others for a day.
And some I send to feel your womb,
But there’s no need to stay.

I just don’t understand that God,
    I want my baby here.
He took a breath and cleared this throat
And then I saw a tear.

I wish that I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
    With other children and say:

We go to earth and learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.

I feel so lucky to have a mom
Who had so much love for me.
I learned my lessons very quickly
    My mommy set me free.

I miss my mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
    When she goes to sleep,
On her pillow’s where I lay.

I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
    And whisper in her ear.
    “Mommy don’t be sad today,
I’m your baby and I’m here.”

So you see my dear sweet one,
    Your children are OK.
Your babies are here in My home
They’ll be at heaven’s gate for you.

So now you see what makes a mother.
It’s the feeling in your heart.
It’s the love you had so much of,
    Right from the very start.

Though some on earth may not realize you are a mother,
    Until their time is done.
They’ll be up here with Me one day
And you’ll know that you’re the best one.
