Wow! A personal public post! Well, it is all about organ donation, so I figured it would be a good idea.
Yesterday I got up at 4:30 in the morning, picked up my friend Beth, and her step-son at 5 am, and got to Life Share at about 5:30. We left Life Share at 6 am, on a Charter bus, heading towards Pasadena. On the way the bus stopped at Fullerton to pick up the group from One Legacy. We finally arrived at the Rose Palace around 9 am, where we got our job assignments. Beth and I decided to work on the vials for the roses that will honor individuals affected by organ donation. we prepared about 1,000 vials!
It was a long day, and a rather emotional one too! But what an incredible honor to be a part of the Rose Parade, working on a float that means so much to us.
Oh, by the way. On December 30th we are going back up to Pasadena, to the Rose Palace. We will be placing roses with Sarah’s name on the float. The folks from the Donate Life organization are going to try to get us on the news too. We will see.

Beth and I when we first arrived in Pasadena… we all got the green shirts!

This is a HUGE warehouse that holds about 10 floats!

Need I say more?!

Preparing the vials that will hold the roses in the Family Circle, honoring donors, recipients, waiting, and candidates.

Beth and I standing on the float, behind the Family Circle… where Sarah’s rose will be placed on 12/30, along with 1,000 other roses!
