This is the email response I got from the folks at Xanga:
We’re doing maintenance on Protected at the moment and hope to have it fixed
soon. Please have your readers check your posts on their own subscriptions
tab. There’s a protected section at
http://www.xanga.com/Private/subsmain.aspx?uni86-category=protected.Hope that helps. The most recent protected post does have photos from Sunday. Again, go to subscriptions, then you should have a tab you can click on that says protected. You should be able to see everything then. Hopefully Xanga will finish maintenance soon!

For my friends and family that use sarah_012104 to read my site:
I have no idea what is going on with Xanga, and why you are automatically sent to the part of my site that is non-protected. I have received calls and emails on this. Until I figure out what happened do the following:
log onto the site as you always have
click on “subscriptions”
Then click on the tab that says protectedYou should then be able to see the most recent post, with pictures of Jaiden from Sunday. If this doesn’t work, shoot me an email or call me.

A Quick PSA… and a photo challenge… (on a non-protected post… oh my!)
First, the PSA (Public Service Announcement): For those of you who are home owners (well, renters too if you have a washer and dryer)… did you know that you need to have the vent to your dryer cleaned at least every other year? We didn’t. We have lived in our condo for almost 8 years, and we never had it cleaned out. Our dryer was needing more and more time, almost 5 hours, to dry a single load. And the dryer is only 4 years old! I figured out that the vent must be blocked when the vent hose was disconnected. My dryer suddenly worked, but I had lint flying everywhere.
Sears cleaned it out for $126. My dryer has never worked so good! It takes just one cycle to dry my clothes. I have done 2 loads since I got home from work! Yeah!
Ok… on to the photo challenge. I thought this would be fun.
I mentioned in my last blog that the last movie I had seen in the movie theater was “27 Dresses.” When I saw the movie, I just about fell out of my chair laughing so hard. I had a bridesmaid dress that was shown in the movie! In my adult life, I have been in 4 weddings. 2 of those wedding dresses were rather awful! One I did wear again… FOR HALLOWEEN!!!! The other two bridesmaid dresses are in my closet still… if I ever go to a formal Christmas party I may wear one of them again (depending on my weight).
So… Show me your hideous bridesmaid dresses! I am sure that between us all, we will have more than 27 dresses.

Myself, my dad, and my poor friend. We had all threatened to get big red dots, as we called this 7-Up can green.
In her defense, this was 1991. But still… we all HATED our dresses (sorry J).
So… this became my halloween dress. This was as redneck of a wedding as you could get. Only thing missing was a horse and guns. They did try to have a horse… but couldn’t get permits for the park.

Yes, I changed my user name for Xanga. I figured I had the other one for about 3+/- years. It was time for a change. This name is for my girls.
Blue= S was showing traits of liking this color. It was the first color she was able to identify. It sounded like “Bue.”
Rose= J’s middle name. And she is our little rose bud.
Since I started this blog for S, and use it to update on J, I figured this would be a good combination. Because everything has been, and always will be about my girls. I am a mom before anything else.
I will try to do a real update in a day or two. As always, my updates will be protected. I always like meeting new people. So feel free to leave me a comment.

Shake and Bake Baby
Yes, there was an earth quake today in Southern California. The epicenter was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay north of us, about 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. I did not feel it, but two people that were in the patient’s room with me did. Brian felt it at home, and ran for a door frame. The dog barked… and he thought it was going to be “the big one.”
It is a funny thing living in San Diego. People become upset/bummed if they don’t feel an earth quake. I must admit, I was a little bummed I didn’t feel it. The other two in the room with me were sitting down… I was standing up. I did see some medical supplies swinging back and forth. That was it.
Finally, I am sooo excited and happy to be living in California. Yes, the land of fruits and nuts. I am happy to announce that my aunt and her long time partner in life will be getting married on Friday. Yeah! And yet, it is sad that their marriage will not be recognized by the Federal Government. When will there be TRUE EQUALITY in the United States?
